Brake Fluid Service Indicater ? How much is the BMW cost or Alternatives... Help

BMW Family Hope you well

My service indicator came up in red and when I scroll down the service menu ... Its red by the brake fluid light ....

Car out of MPlan ... Any1 knows the cost of this service at BMW and alternatives ? Its in red but says due in 07/2013 ... Any other danger if I don't do it quicky ? Will the brakes fail completely?

Hi buddy

The brake fluid service entails flushing the system with 2 or 3 bottles of Synthetic Brake Fluid, Dot 4.

This can be carried out by most independent workshops and should set you back approx R250-R300 max.

If the service indicator is red, then it means that the maintenance is overdue, recommend doing it as soon as possible to be safe :thumbs:

The brake fluid from BMW is cheap and just get any decent brake shop to do a bleed for you.

It's not expensive to have it done at the dealers

I called BMW a couple of days ago cause my car will also be needing a brake fluid flush soon and they quoted me R450.00. So I would rather spend that extra R150.00 on them doing it than any of the so called decent brake shops.
