Brake bleed done, DSC warning persists.

Hi Guys, i need a bit of advice please. I removed the calipers on my 2009 e93 335i to have them powder coated. After reinstalling them i bled the system, once just manually actuating the brake pedal and releasing the bleed screw till the fluid came through clean and air free with the pedal stiff. Second time around i used the inpa procedure where the software activates the pumps etc and guides u throught the bleed procedure. Both times i drained about a litre of brake fluid through the system but whenever i step hard on the brake pedal it just goes soft and the DSC warning light comes on. There are no leaks or anything and as far as i can hear the ABS pump etc seems to be working. When i turn the car off and restart, all the faults clear automaticall but as soon as i step hard on the brakes, they all reappear. What else can i check or do or possible cause of this before i throw in the towel and take it to a dealership? Thanks

when you bleeding manually - pump pedal and then hold to the floor and the bleed screw gets tightened - do this 2 to 3 times per wheel, this should work.

You need 2 people to do it this way unless you have one of those fancy bleed gadgets that you only once twice in your lifetime

Thanks MikeR. I was able to identify my problem with some help from another forum. Turns out i installed the rear calipers incorrectly ( mixed up left and right ) and as a result the bleed screw facing down causing an air pocket in the caliper regardless of how your bleed it. Going to swop them around tonight and bleed again. Will update this thread just as a FYI for anyone else who might have this problem in future.

Thanks again and take it easy,
D

Hi Guys

As promised, just a quick update on this thread. So i eventually got around to swapping the rear calipers around with the bleed screw at the top and happy to report that the bleed procedure worked and braking power restored. All DSC, ABS and other alerts cleared as well.

Hopefully this thread will help save someone from the stress i had trying to figure it out.:)

Cheers
D
