Hi guys! Just want to share this with u. I bought this car for a song like in R35 000 :) Its a 1996 318is manual with 136 000km on the clock, the car belonged to a 73 year old man from Hartenbos. He really took great care of it, I am suprised about the fuel economy on this car, I avg about 9L/100km in town.

It doesnt have the performance of my previous car (Volvo S40 T4) but I think it will serve me much better, reliability wise. Will post some more pics of it soon, I took this one today :thumb:

Werver V, i was in the same situation as you, also bought a 1997 E46 316i for R35000. Im still very happy :)

I miss my Focus ST's power, but the excellent fuel from the Beemer quick wipes that away...

 well done mate

Thanks, the only prob Ive noticed with the car is that it idles a bit uneven, cold or hot doesnt matter. Its almost like its misfiring slighty on idle revs and theres a faint whistling noise coming from the engine intake manifold area.. I cleaned the ICV but the problem is still there. I also took off the crank vent valve and took it to a bmw mechanic but he said it seems fine.. Oh yes and when the car is cold it feels like something is holding it back when driving (hard to describe), almost like a hesitation through the rev range when applying light throttle, but it dissapears completely once warmed up.. I would really appreciated any advice..hope its not the MAF sensor -->>R5800@the dealers :bawling:
