Here is the Bosch part numbers...

Update,
got a set from Diesel electric in river horse valley today, they were 20 and 22 inch if I remember correctly, came to 190 bucks for both blades, they do work very nicely and slotted right in,
Part numbers are:
DE3397008534 20"
DE3397008537 22"

@Philip, about the locating clip you spoke of earlier, it's purpose was to keep the old design blade in place, I tried removing it but it didn't budge, so I left it in place and tested the wipers with water and they wiped well with no shuddering, tried it again at freeway speeds and it still wiped correctly, maybe I am just lucky with my one but if it does start being a pain I will forcefully remove it...

Thank you for the assist on the wipers..

Revival :)

Thanks for the reference Philip.

I'm certain to try them... My OEM ones are starting to shudder when a bit dry now after 2 and a half years of use.

How long did these last, if they aren't still on the car/bakkie?

Still very happy with them, and still the same ones that I fitted when I originally posted this thread. Have nothing against the OEM parts as such, but at the time I was quoted a truly stupid price for new E46 wipers, then read about these things and phoned around. Since they were very similar to what the E90 had I was 100% happy to try them out. The old E46 wipers weren't too bad, just old and worn, but when I fitted these wipers I was very impressed, and soon after put them on the bakkie too - the original wipers were terrible in terms of shuddering and being noisy!

With the E90, the agents fitted a new set in early 2012 as motorplan was nearing its end, but they were pretty noisy from the moment I started using them that winter, and a year later it was clear that there was something wrong with them. The driver's side wiper was shuddering a lot and worse still, it was not even cleaning a portion of the windscreen most of the time. It was as if it was bowing too much and therefore not applying even pressure on the glass. Of course being a wear and tear item, BMW was not willing to replace them even though they were well within 2 years old (and had very little actual use and never stood in the sun). And if the E46 OEM wipers are expensive, the E90 OEM are on a whole different level. But the E90 has a specific fitting, so the generics won't work. But Bosch do make a set specifically for the E90 and I was able to get a set from Diesel Electric. Still have them on the car and they still work perfectly.

Need to change the wipers on my e46. Contemplating the aero twins after the write up, they cost around R250... Just to clarify, I would need one 20" and one 22"?

I also have an E46 and I actually went one size bigger on both wipers when I replaced them with the aero twins. Just take a tape measure at home and see how much space you have to work with, but one size bigger works brilliantly for me. I will measure my wiper blades after work when I get home and revert back tonight. I replaced them like 2 years ago so can't remember exactly.

Thanks bud! I would like to do the same. Please check and let me know, if it worked for you, it should for me as well.

I used 20inch and 22inch in the past. Though I'd say on the larger one it's possible to go one size bigger. But the above sizes work well.

I checked and I went with a 500mm on the passenger side and a 600mm on the drivers side. Both fit just inside the windscreen at their furthest points, so at no point does any part of the wiper touch the rubber or body work of the car. So by my calculations it's a 24 inch and a 20 inch.

Thanks a mil bud! :ty: I went home and checked as well on my car, standard issue is 22 and 20. I will go this afternoon to buy them.

It's been a wet weekend in Cape Town, so I went to Midas yesterday to pick up a new set of wiper blades to replace my 3 year old Bosch Eco Blades. R240 for a set of Bosch Aerotwins, takes less than a minute to install.

For anyone interested in the details.

I wish it was an hour install. than these bastards would keep stealing my wipers. I've had 4 sets stolen in the last 2 years.

I've had 2 sets stolen!! WTF!! 3rd set I installed, tested and then put a drop or 2 of superglue under the little cover cap and closed it. So you have to break them to get them off.

Its ridiculous. And they probably only sell them for R20.

That's not a bad idea. I shall do that.

I tried this already. I even used Epoxy. Didn't stop them.

Its not just about stopping them. They can take them but they must be f*d and not usable once they've taken them off the car.
