paid like R400 from the stealer for them

Yup, me too. Except they only replaced the rubber strips, not the wiper body. Then they just billed it to my service account without consulting me.
R396 for two strips of rubber...

i just put some durablades this weekend on my E39. longer blades. Took a few calls to find a shop that had stock. The longer longer one is 730mm long where the standard durablades is 600mm long. Works great sofar. and cost was R90

If only I had known. Serviced the Sorento the other day and the rep told me that the replacement blades on the Sorento is R800 for the set. And you thought Kia would be cheap (I mean inexpensive...)

Nope, good old bent metal. :)

We had a discussion a while ago about the pros and cons of the aero blades vs conventional blades and a guy from germany said that he went well over 200 and the aeros still did their job. I found that anything over 180 and you can forget about looking at the road through the front windscreen with the conventional blades...

A quick google says they will fit, but the windshield has to much of a curve for them to work well, but I suggest you do your own research...

@P1000: Thanks for that got a link?

@ BMW M: When you say like a bomb I am assuming you mean a good bomb? as in no streaking or bouncing and the action is smooth and silent and it wipes the windshield CLEAN.

Since we are on the wiper topic, the Durablades on my Polo did their job just like the ad on TV. But then after about two years, I started getting streaks and generally not a good wipe. Took it in to a verimark (or wherever it was) and told my story.

The lady asked me if the blades were perished. Of course they were not as silicone cannot perish like rubber. Then they cannot exchange them. THAT is the lifetime warranty on durablades. If the blades PERISH, then it will be refunded/exchanged. Not if they stopped doing their primary job.

I told her that their ad states that if the blades did not provide a clean wipe EVERY TIME, then they will gladly exchange it according to their lifetime warranty. She wanted to hear nothing of the sort and kept on insisting that I prove to her that the blades were perished.
After a brief argument with the sales rep, I saw their tactic and gave up.

Marketing you bugger...

e46320i,

Yes like a good bomb...lol. Clean and silent, just let it run in on a dry windscreen for I think its 3 minutes... Instructions are on the box.

i dont see why the aerotwin wipers wont work on a curved screen... have you looked at how curved the polo screen is?

I phoned bosch/diesel electric. told them the exact part numbers I wanted for the aerotwins. they phoned me back, telling me they cant get it.

then I saw the retro fit at the dealer, bmw branded bosch aerotwins.

as I said, R400 from the dealers. you remove the exist blades/holders, and just use the arms, and the clip on.

you also remove a piece on the drivers side arm, otherwise it doesnt fit flush. This is all on the box
