Bonnet switch

Gud day gentlemen and ladies.... I hav faulty e46 bonnet switch,causing havoc with my alarm:thumbdo: ....it needs replacing.wer can I find replacement? And has ther been improvements to this switch....I was wondering if u guys noticed how common it is to hear faulty BMW alarms in parking lots,all thnx to same problem,no doubt:nonono:...thnx guys

You could unplug it in the meantime while waiting for a replacement. Just an idea.

Its also common on the 1 series. Water must easily splash into that area causing it to mulfunction...only theory i got.

Thnx..so I went round to REYNOLDS MECHANICAL in Retreat mn rd....awesome experience:praise: the 'main man',immediately had a solution for me,tnx to sum genkem,n a pce of fan belt I think it was...according to his experience,the switch needs no replacing,just a 'macgyver' :idea:...which ensures proper contact between bonnet n switch.a big thank u to Reynolds,as my alarm is 'armed' agen..SUPER SERVICE :thumbs:

Had this happen a year or so ago with my Wife's E46, just get a new one from the agents - can't remember exactly, but wasn't that expensive... :thumbs:

Agree unplug it.. dont think it could be that expencive :fencelook: better that having the alarm go off

Their branch under stadium on main sprayed my bumper. Still need to go back for them to sort something out for me.
