Bonnet Struts for BMW E60

My bonnet struts have seen it's day even though the car is only 6 years old. Very surprising.

Stealers want R629 a piece which is nuts IMO. Do you still get places that can refill them? If so, I am looking for a place in the Jhb area.

I checked for part compatibility and unfortunately this only works on the E60 as per realoem.com

Yes u do, there's a Chinese guy who does it.
He charged me R300 for my m3, he took my old shocks and in return gave me new recon ones...

If he doesn't have a set to swop out 4u , he will do yours 4u..

I have his details at home, I'll look 4it and send it to you...

Was something along the lines of renew-a-strut or something of that sort

Cool - I see that GW keeps for R450 a set. With R150 savings, I am not sure whether it warrants a recon route.

That G-Drive place might have, or be able to get - on their site doesn't show this available for your car, but for the E90 it is and for R160 each which isn't too bad!

E34 bootlid is like a guillotine. My buddy's 525i must be propped hither and tither with planks and bats and other such implements. He was astounded when I pulled my bonnet release and the bonnet sprung forward on its own.:biglol:

I too, was astounded after I've replaced my shocks no need for cricket bats...and they pop up all by themselves! :joy:
