Drove one over the weekend and was quite impressed.
Considering buying it but not sure.
Any thoughts on how these cars are?
Obviously the practicality issue is there but I have the wifes X3 for that.

The car still has plan till 2016.
Thinsg I could see on teh car that will need work:
Front bumper seems mis-aligned
Wheels were refurbished
Tyres not great
Stone chips
Few scratches around the car
Something rattling when the car starts up col but the goes away later
Rea discs seems to be making a skimming noise

Other than that the car seems in great nick
One previous lady owner
40000kms on the clock
19" option wheels
Nav
etc

Thoughts and especially what I should be looking out for?

If they say "one lady owner/driver" I start to wonder......

I've bought a few cars in my lifetime, and the worst cars I've seen, was advertised as "one lady owner"

Just this Saturday had a look at a 2001 Beetle with 100 000km on, for the wife. Advertised as a one lady owner car, but shit, this car is in a bad state.

Very awesome car that. Same engine as the 1M but with a drop top

If the car in question is a red one from a certain dealership by Zambesi I would stay very, very far away

It uses the same motor as the 1M. Be careful of one lady owner cars. Why is the bumper mis-aligned? Was the car perhaps in an accident?
Do your home work. Get the the motorplan CIA report and PM Coisman the reg to check on eNatis.

I have the motorplan history and mostly normal things but these two lines stand out for me:

Oil sump gasket, top leaking R2172.46
Cylinder head cover cracked/broken R4733.61

Both done in 2012.
The lady owner thing is genuine as the car was registered to a lady from Franschoek. But yeah, its not perfect.
All the wheels were refurbed to take away curb rash, tyres are not great, one or two scrathes around the car, drivers seat is also damaged on teh top where you would get into the car

Loved the sound and the drive
Not sure if its an every day type of car and coming from my very big car to this is also concerning me
For thos ethat own a Z4, is it comfortable enough to live with as a daily?

When I read "lady owner" I picture shopping trolleys banging into doors, wheels scraping pavements & parking 'accidents' :fencelook:
If the car is quite low, check underneath as some people don't like slowing down/avoiding speed bumps/potholes :nonono:
