Body panels not 100% aligned.
Paint work not 100% matching.
Wind noise from the doors.
Doors n boot lid don't close, needs to be banged :argh:
Headlight misted up, and list goes on....

But the Performance, tone and handle is 200% and it turns to many heads :fencelook:

This is the end of line for BMW... Time to give someone else a chance...

on which vehicle is this on?

I know the E9x has more quality issues over the E46, as my E46s where very robust and hard wearing on the interior. E9x is another kettle of fish.

Are the newer ones even worse?

i think the build quality is terrible too, i have an e90 320d and test drove the f series 320d , the car looks and feels good but the build quality isnt as good as previous generations and i even feel the e46 was built better than the e90.

Document all the issues, take plenty of pics, write up a nice report and get them to send an assessor

Have a F21.
I've seen not aligned panels on other F20's and F30's brand new ones..

The features and stuff are awesome, there are other F20/1s and F30's that are perfect as well...

It seems like its the luck of the draw... defected 1s mixed in with perfect 1s

I have car with me, you welcome to come check it out....

I wanna see what comes out of the Puma Case before the video's and pictures go up on Social networks and on BMW Group and BMW SA etc...

To the guys/girls that bought or planning on buying new BMW please inspect the cars:
- You might think the paint working is matching but others will pick up its not.
- Make sure every body panels align and the spacing it correct coz you are paying for a new car not a 2nd hand defect :argh:

No reason to wait, if you're unhappy they should know about it immediately.

I started noticing alot of quality issues with the later generation 3series, e9x models. Things like trim peeling on the interior paneling and steering wheels, lcd displays that fade or stop displaying properly, window door and boot seals simply coming off or getting cut, some of the plastics used in the boot are dodgey & so is the wiring in the boot. The housing for the tools is also strange and very cheap. The aluminium strips used in the interior can get dented as well. On the paintwork side I noticed the E9x paint was very dimpled and not smooth, as well as the front end being easily stone chipped. The doors also dont close with a solid thunk as the previous models used to. I could go on & on.....

None of the above was an issue on the E46s I owned.

With the 3series becoming as mass produced as it is, I decided the max I would spend on one is R225K (any model, I work for a dealer so I see alot of cars), as purchasing higher up the range does not neccessarily bring you better quality. Its sad to see, but when I look at quality of other brands i.e. Audi, it makes me question what my next purchase is going to be.

I've owned 2 x E46's and now on an E90. Some of the above, I agree. However, the E46 also had it's fair share of issues, such as peeling trim, dodgy plastics, etc.

However, quality did not improve substantially with the E90, which is normally the case with a newer model.

I've got a Lexus, same year as the E90. From almost every US and UK study, it's supposed to be better quality than the Germans, buy unless you've got the 2 side by side, I think the E90 is a better built car.

I have heard of bad build E90's.

I am on my second one now, and never had peeling interiors or rattles or any issue. Sadly I never owned a E46, drove a ford at that time. :fencelook:

Apparently, the LCI models were built a bit more "cheaply". Don't have enough info to justify that statement - just hearsay ...
