Just to update, mine was booked in at BMW SUPERTECH today. Dropped of the car at 7am, was constanly updated via sms by the service guys. By 12h00 the car was ready washed and waiting for collection.

I also made use of their shuttle service.

Was happy with the service i received. Lets see how everyting goes, overall a good experience.

Also thanks to the members on this forum for creating this thread thats the only way i found about about the recall.

Ditto I had mine done at Supertech a few weeks back, no issues

Took my car Yesterday for both the blower and the battery cable.

After inspection I see the panel below the cubby doesn't align like it did before, I know of one plastic bracket which was broken before the service by my wife.
Now when I had a look i saw another bracket about to break as they tightened it to much.

Also my cubby just fell open when I went to put all the usual stuff back, had a look and saw the cylinder to the right was not connected.
So I connected it myself and now my cubby doesn't want to open, you have to pull it open. Also noticed the whole thing is loose and wonky.

What pathetic service from BMW, every time you take your vehicle in to be fixed it just comes back with other issues.

The issue doesn't seem to be at one specific dealer as I had my car at two separate dealers now and at both there was issues after the service.

:rage::rage::rage:

So I took my car in for the recall on Tuesday and got it back that afternoon, and the next day(Yesterday) the car battled to start in the morning and the afternoon , it sounded like on first swing that the battery has been drained, So i call them this morning and they say book the car in and if the fault is not theirs I need to pay for the diagnosis even though i explained to them that the car was perfectly fine before they touched it. Not sure what to do now, not in the mood for them to blame something else and worry about their ridiculous prices

Just a thought, don't the cars have a log on which you can see if you had previous issues to get the car started? Because then I would just try and use the log to prove all was fine before if I was you.

The level of workmanship from car dealers these days are just appalling. :skit:

Im not sure about the log thing but if I have the same issue today then im going to book it in and give them a piece of my mind, I need to check if all the clips on my cubby are fine aswell.

This is a common issue when taking your vehicle to a dealership, you might be a victim of something breaking or further damage to your vehicle.

In the past, VW has broken my passenger mirror and BMW drained my battery. They ended up replacing it twice as the first replacement battery was a dud, keep in mind both vehicles went to the dealer initially for none of these issues.

So proceed with caution on this one.

Went to start my car this morning after being away this whole weekend and once I unlocked my car the angel eyes didn't light up.
Never had this issue before (except when the battery was on its way out).
Car started fine though, just know the angel eyes don't light up if the battery is a bit drained.

Suspect they drained the battery or something is up with the battery cable they replaced.

Car is going back tomorrow to BMW so that they can fix their shoddy workmanship with my cubby and i'm reporting this as well.. :eek:mgwaiting:

Had mine done at JSN in February.

Great service, told them not to wash as I don’t want paintwork looking like it was washed with steel wool.

No issues or complaints from me since then. Generally I’ve never had bad experiences at JSN in the past.

Hi guys

Took my car back to BMW this morning, last night lying awake in bed I had this feeling to test my USB drive in the cubby as the cubby is giving problems.

and...

Before I took the car in I tested it and the USB drive in the cubby also stopped working and I can't load any music to my hard drive in the car. What utter useless service.

Got there this morning and I waited 50 mins and I got no feedback about my car after giving it back to them to fix.

Stay away from Eastview Emalahleni if you want proper work done to your car and proper service of your vehicle.

I did these 2 recalls last year at Auto Glen BMW. I did the 120d and the 3 series at the same time. Great service and Kade went one step further to give me a loan car for the day. No issues to report and was informed when the car was ready for collection.

Did mines at Bruma Bmw and had zero issues. I made sure to check my toolkit, my cowel and my cubby were all 100% before i even left the premises. I also took a short video when i dropped the car off at their premises to show them that everything is inorder to prevent arguments and disputes down the line....i would encourage all members to take that one minute video , its worth it for your own peace of mind!

I agree with you, i made sure i also checked my toolkit and that everything else was functioning in the car park of the dealership before i left, but i didnt take a video i just took photos. the video is a better idea.
