Its a mod to keep the exhaust flap open...a closed flap mutes/softens the sound.

It takes less than a few minutes. Once the exhaust is installed then you can take some pix of the rear muffler and i will explain the various safe options to do it...

One of the forum members had the bmw performance exhaust installed on his 135 recently. I took the car for a drive yesterday and really like the sound on the 135. I also did the GT mod on his car and it brought out the sound even more. The exhaust will get louder and fuller over time after it has settled completely...very nice

alrighty so now i can finaly give my review on the exhaust sorry for keeping some of u waiting but any way here goes.

first impresions:
so my brother and i get to the dealership to pick up the car:joy: and we get straight to busines. we settle the payment which was R11 400 for everything and head down to the under ground parking lot to see it for the first time. i walk behind the car and the tips are shiney silver and and are looking ready for a party haha. at this point im hoping the car has been standing for a while so that i can here a cold start beacause it sounds the best when its cold. i start her up and within three seconds i reckon i made the right decision to do this because wow this thing made that underground parking lot rumble it sounded waaaay deeper and more agressive than the stock exhaust on start up.

first drive

so we get going and from the very begining i can here theres a diference, it sounds alot more deep and loud on partial throttle. it gets even louder the higher u go with the rev range but not the eritating noise from a free flow on a citi golf (no offense) it sounds quality. on cruising it sounds pretty much stock until u go near the throttle then it starts to droan but a nice droan, specialy on like 2200rpm. it sounds specialy nice with sport mode on when changing gears, i have the dct model so it gives a nice burp on the shifts.

performance:

i cant feel any performance diference yet and thats probably because the exhaust stil has to selttle... but il be honest even if i get no gains its stil worth it because of the sound. although on low rmp it feels like it has a tad more torque it feels abit sharper than normal. the throttle response is also a little better. all together dont expect to get kicked in the back of your chair more than usual although everything does feel a little more sharp which feels good.

i would definetly recomend this product to all the guys who are thinking about doing it so far it has exceeded my expectations.

ps. we found what looked like and must of been a heavily modified diesel SEAT cupra and had a few runs but thats for the TLGP section so go check it out there:rollsmile:

ps. again. i have done the G-T mod already on my stock exhaust by umpluging a certain conection in the boot so that also helped to increase the sound i think... for those that know is that the best way to do the G-T mod?

feel free to ask any questions.. hope all of this helped
