Such a great place for me to learn new things about BMW and members share such a good information here. In these days i use ... But i want to change it as soon as possible.

Hey guys im not sure if im posting in the right place but I need some info on a 2005 3.0D x5
my battery is new and charging is good but my van swings like the battery is flat

Have you confirmed the battery and alternator with a voltmeter. With the engine running you should see about 14V across the battery terminals. If not, the alternator needs attention - probably a voltage regulator. You should see about 12V with the engine off. If no - battery not holding its charge. If all is well so far, it could be the starter.

Not sure if this is the right pace either. Perhaps the a mod should move these posts to a new thread.

I don't know if this applies to the newer models, but I thought it was interesting that for the E36 they recommend starting the car and driving away pretty much straight away instead of idling to let the car warm up.

Yes I used a meter battery was just over 12v off and I got about 13.5 on idle with all the lights and air conditioner running. Guess it is the starter then

Have you opend up a starter before? Im thinking of attempting it tomorrow morning

My starter was loose, tighten the 2 bolts and shes better than ever, thanks again:ty:

BMW is one of my favorite car and always interested to drive it.
I like BMW models due to their unique designs and attractive colors.

As an aside, and relevant question, is there any place one can find old(er), sales manuals for Z4M and Z4 coupes? Obviously for the SA spec cars.

Just curious to see the options available and so on.
