Such a great place for me to learn new things about BMW and members share such a good information here. In these days i use ... But i want to change it as soon as possible.
Hey guys im not sure if im posting in the right place but I need some info on a 2005 3.0D x5
my battery is new and charging is good but my van swings like the battery is flat
Have you confirmed the battery and alternator with a voltmeter. With the engine running you should see about 14V across the battery terminals. If not, the alternator needs attention - probably a voltage regulator. You should see about 12V with the engine off. If no - battery not holding its charge. If all is well so far, it could be the starter.
Not sure if this is the right pace either. Perhaps the a mod should move these posts to a new thread.
I don't know if this applies to the newer models, but I thought it was interesting that for the E36 they recommend starting the car and driving away pretty much straight away instead of idling to let the car warm up.

Yes I used a meter battery was just over 12v off and I got about 13.5 on idle with all the lights and air conditioner running. Guess it is the starter then
