whats the safest way of increasing this boost ? i take it that when boost is increased the dme will increase or decrease timing on its own ?

Safest is stock boost levels... but 12 psi if you insist.

2 anyone heard of boost labs
Yes.

3 . what will be difference between boost labs and mhd app software?
nothing much, just table definitions.

4. what is the safest boost to run for a daily driver with no mods on pump fuel

thanks . there seems to be so much contradicting information . You say 12psi which is 0.8 bar . and then a few others say 1.2 bar with software . ??

12 psi(0.8 Bar) is stock boost as far as i know, if you going the SW Route this gets bumped up to 16PSI (1.1 Bar), 1.1 Bar seems to be the sweet spot for stock snails.

Maby do some homework bud, lots of information on N54tech.com :)

There is a good reason i got phenomenal power and reliability out of my N54s...

lets start at the beginning, the N54 factory boost limits were set at 8psi which is piddly, the BMW Power pack raised that to 10psi and the last revisions in the 1M were at 12psi.

Moving on, a tuner can give you a gazzilion psi for your dime, but it will be just that one more PSI to kill the motor. You also asked what the car could run on pump fuel with no other supporting modifications. Unfortunatly if you want to daily an N54 with no other supporting mods and running pump fuel this is as far as i will push the envelope for good longevity.

or you could go hillbilly style and turn it up to 15+psi and when you get terrible misfires, blown charge pipes and other accompanying n54 gremlins then blame it on how shit the motor is... :blueCry:

To round of, you asked a specific set of circumstances and the answer wasn't what you were looking for... if you want to turn the wick up past 12psi then add supporting mods to ease the burden on the motor...

Thanks for the information Kish 2604 , Let me rather rephrase , If i want to run 1.1 / 1.2 bar what supporting modifications will i need , And still use pump fuel ?

also whilst running these mods and this boost increase , can one then add any fuel additives or higher octane fuel , will this assist in increased power ?

what software do you recommend for the n54 ?

The fuel cap says 10% mix of eth. Supppse if u want to bump up boost, this could also be 1st things to consider then boost pipes etc.

Dude what is your Goals?

You can run up to 30% of ethanol on stock lpfp.

You will need a down pipe only to run 1.1 bar boost but I would recommend getting your charge pipe upgraded when remapping etc.

Stock pump 95 fuel no additives I ran +-245 wkw with some supporting mods

Let try to answer this for you:

To push around 1.2 bar =17psi

You will need as a minimum:

The software to get you there, either JB4 stacked with a BMS backend flash or MHD or whatever you prefer.

A stronger charge pipe, the extra boost is going to blow your plastic charge pipe and possibly Divertor valves to prevent any boost leak.

Catless down pipes

A good service on your car and extra cash aside, because the extra boost is going to definitely point out any weak spots on your car, all N54 owners will testify to this.

You can run a fuel additive, but you will fowl your spark plugs quicker. I prefer 30%eth
