BMW M2 vs Ford Focus RS

This is a super tight track giving some advantage to 4WD due to slow corner exit speeds.

Anyway, enjoy the footage.

That must be one of the most ridiculous reviews I have ever watched.

1) Who races in the wet, so who cares where the focus disappears to in the wet?
2) The brakes better in the Ford? which planet is this guy from? Not according to other reviews.
3) He looked very uncomfortable behind the wheel of the BMW. Maybe give it to someone who can handle it better.
4) Some of these British reviewers are so biased towards the Ford, you just know what the result it going to be before you even press play.
5) There is a price difference because we are comparing a BMW M car to a Ford RS car. They are worlds apart.

Having said all that, if BMW are in fact trying to compete in this market, then they need to go AWD. If they aren't competing in this market, then it leaves them alone in their own market. Not sure if that is a good or bad thing, but I would still choose the M2 over any of the "competitor" hatches.

Ever been in a country where it rains constantly? Did you see the Nur 24h this year, or any year for that matter?

Funny, that your opinion is that the reviewer can't have a differing opinion...

Not sure what to make of this

Everyone is biased, it is the human condition. (even you)

Wonder what pricing the RS is coming in at, should be easier to come by than the M2...I missed out miserably on the Mk2 Rs a few years ago.

The Ford really lacks on interior - there are definitely a lot more cars in that price range that I'd rather have as a daily.

I have watched the comparison video, very objective. In the braking department, I just whish BMW discovers the Endless brake pads, as I have in my race car and in the 1M I am getting.

I just think that the Ford's artificial "Play Station enjin sound" selection is really unasked for:thumbdo:

A proper performance car is all about raw and uncompromising performance, where such sound gimmics are not fitting the script...

However, a good friend of mine ordered a RS and I have been invited to go and put the car through it's paces and see what it is capable of!!

I would also like to see in future that M-Cars and the high performance flagships such as the RS, should be at least 150-200kg's lighter, to enhance performance even more by just saving on weight. Lighter windows, lighter doors and seats as well as roof panels, lighter carpets, less speakers and electrically operated cabin stuff. Even my wife says often: "turn off the flippen radio so that we can listen to the real music"!

Maybe I am a bit too hardcore power-to-weight-performance orientated for most people's liking, but after having stripped down an E46 M3 for a full race spec conversion, I have a very good idea why Porsches are so much lighter than their rivals, therefor making smart power!

At least the people at Ford have realised what they are crap at and chucked it out in favour of other car manufacturers parts to make their Fords fast and reliable.
Im actually pretty keen on testing one out on Zwartkops or kyalami, should be a hoot to drive.

Its way better than the lame outgoing FWD Focus RS model, thats for sure!

I see they have now dropped the 5cyl volvo powerplant.

Not sure what all the ruckus is about. The M2 was faster and sounded better. The only negative thing he had to say is that the M2 could do with better brakes.
