Thursday 1st May 2014: Killarney MSA Drag racing & BMW Jamboree (Festival Vol.5)
BMW Festival at the New Pits from 10am – free entry to all drivers of BMW vehicles till 12pm sharp.

Celebrate Workers Day at Killarney on Thursday 1st May with quarter mile drag racing and the fifth volume of the annual BMW Jamboree (Festival).
On track action is scheduled to kick off at 9am on the Killarney main straight. Cape Town’s top quarter mile experts will be taking each other on to see who can take top honours in this discipline of motorsport over 400 meters.
Info from the track is that the xmas tree (drag start lights) were damaged at a recent event when one of the competitors had a mechanical failure on the start line, the damaged parts are undergoing repair and a wall will be built in this area to avoid this happening again.

The BMW Festival will take place at the Killarney New Pit facility from 10am, this is prime spot for catching all the drag racing action and BMW attractions. This part of the event will see the local BMW enthusiasts & clubs joining each other in celebrating all things “BMW”. These will include vehicles on display in a mass park-off around the back of the Killarney New Pit facility. Then at lunch time there will be a BMW parade and some drivers may get a chance to take each other on down the main straight.
There will also be Halaal vendors and kiddies entertainment in this area. As has been done in all previous BMW Festivals, we welcome all owners of any BMW by allowing free access to the driver at the MotoX gate between 7am and 12pm (noon). The BMW Festival Show & Shine competition will be open to all BMW vehicles present on the day. The price to participate in this static competition will be R50 per car in order to be able to stand a chance of winning one of the many prizes up for grabs. Judging will start after the mass BMW parade at about 2pm while the winners will be announced at 4.30pm inside the Killarney New Pit facility. Classes available to enter will include: Best factory standard, Best Classic (older than 25 years), Best M series (1994 – 2004), Best M (2005 – 2014), Best E30, Best Modded car and Best BMW of the day.
