Alright everyone!

The regional calendar submissions have been setup and are ready for you to post your favourite picture of your BMW.

As per the rules in each thread:

Rules:

1. Only one photo may be submitted per fanatic.
2. Photo's posted must have an original minimum resolution of 1000x (in other words make sure you have the high resolution version available.
3. Provide a short blurb on your car. Make, model, year and the cars name as well as mods. If you wish you can include something interesting for us to include in the Calendar.
4. Please refrain from spamming and commenting on submitted pictures.
5. Please only post pictures relevant to your region. If you are in the Western Cape do not post your pic in the Gauteng thread!

Submissions will be closed on the 26th October.

I will then create polls for each region with the pictures listed and each fanatic will receive one vote.

I will update everyone once we get to this point, for now I look forward to seeing everyones pictures!

To delve into the methodology further and how I do it which keeps things fair and happy.

1. We create a thread and members post up pictures of cars they feel are suitable.
2. We then have an initial vote on those pictures.
3. I then prepare those pictures, standardising the finish and borders etc.
4. We have a final vote for the 12 pictures.

We agree on a calendar style and I get prices and we order.

Great idea Mike if some of the proceeds can flow back into the forum as well. Would be cool with fanatics logo and the fanatics site theme.

Check with Freerider he has "did this, done that" already...he can advise on process.

How will you select from the many fanatics cars? Will you consider a calender per region to allow more cars to get in the calender?

either a calender per region,or a collage type thing,2 to 3 cars on one page per month,or a car per week or a car per day

Hi Twinz

I edited my post above to further explain how I have done it previously.

I think it may be a good idea to do a calendar per region as this ensures that members will have a fairly good chance to get their car on the calendar.

So lets do a calendar per region with 12 cars using seperate threads per region for voting and entering pictures.

My idea with this is not to make much profit (I did the UK guys calendars at 5 pounds each shipped) so I dont plan on adding much of a margin. However slight the margin may be we can certainly make sure that the website itself also benefits financially and in terms of potential marketing.

Of course the design can feature elements of the forum itself too.

Awesome!

So here are the official plans on how we are going to do this.

Please keep in mind that I do not have long to do this as the suppliers close in December and the voting and design process takes time.

The following regions will have their own personalised calendars:

Eastern Cape
Freestate
Gauteng
Kwazulu Natal
Limpopo
Mpumalanga
Northern Cape
North West
Western Cape

Each calendar will follow the same theme, however the images will be different per month.

I will create individual threads in the General Chat Section (for greater exposure) which can be stickied. In these threads I will give fanatics 2 weeks to submit a single photo of a car they feel deserves to be on the calendar.

I will then create a poll and members can vote for the pictures and the top 12 will be selected by vote per region over a two week period.

I will then present proofs of the calendars to each region for final approval before we take orders per region.

This is the easiest way to manage this and has worked for me previously.

I shall start getting the threads up tomorrow.

I think this is a great idea even if I don't think my car is worthy. I'm sure there are some show stoppers out there. I'll buy one for sure.

Mike get a move on  die jaar het al amper sy gat gesien:=):
