Hi All
I need some help my heater on the drivers side does not heat up as much as the passenger side even when set on high, is this normal to be working like this?.
Why I ask is that I do use the heater early in the mornings and it still stays cool/lukewarm even when set on high heat.

Doesn't sound right.

Google e90 heater control valve issues, I had this problem before on my E36 where one side was lekker hot and the other side, well lets say it was blowing air.

Hope this helps you, what you also can do and see if this helps is to locate the heater control valves, it is 2 silver 5-6cm tube like that is in the engine bay close to the windscreen. Locate them and just switch on the heater in the car and tap them with a spanner (not hard) and then see if it improve, they sometimes get sticky but worse case is go to scrapyard and buy them, they are a plug and play replacement. But first google it and take it from there.

Hope this helps. Does your aircon work on both sides?

Also remember that the heater uses coolant to heat the element, so the heater will take a little while to start getting hot. Does the heater temperature improve afer a longish trip?

Nope stays at a constant Luke warm temp and the passenger side is really hot.

There's also a secondary water pump that pumps the coolant around to help distribute the heating - if that has failed or is failing, it would probably throw out a code when you do error reading.

I have heard of this problem before, I know that the mechanics at Ross Duncan did tell me that it is important to use your heater during summer as the problem you are experiencing will arise. Suggest maybe taking it to Ross for them to have a look....

I am having a similar issue with my heater. The passenger side gets nice and warm but the drivers side just blows normal air.
My aircon needs to be refilled so I cant tell if it blows cold on both sides. Right now the passenger side does feel a little cooler but its hard to tell.

with mine I'm experiencing the opposite again, it doesn't blow cool air unless the aircon is on. :dunnoanymore:

I Had this issue on my old 1 series, my mechy told me about changing the blower motor resistor and rechecking the plumbing, wasn't sure of this so just left it..
