We drove the BMW E90 335i 3-series today on a test and were left impressed with the N54 engine and the amount power on tap for such an old car.
From low RPMs the rumble of the 6-cylinder starts and keeps boost up to 7000rpm, although we think it doesn't like to be hammered this hard and a good RPM range to change is around 6400rpm. We found the suspension a bit soft when pushing it hard and see the void that the BMW e90 M3 fills when it comes to handling characteristics of the car.
We also understand why dads love the 335i, this car is so versatile and usable every day, yet has so much potential do modifications and extract up to 400kW on stock internals that's fitted with a forged crank and rods.
Full video review coming soon.
