Hi everyone, I just want some sort of advise please on what to do, I have a bmw e90 320D it was involved in an accident, accident area was front left by the headlight, the car stood outside for a year with no battery power to the car, I started getting the car repaired but now it’s just cranking and not firing it also has a slight delayed start when I press the push to start(takes a while to start cranking) and diagnostics machine doesn’t pick up the ecu, I had the ecu checked for water damage and there isn’t any damages to the ecu, I’m not sure what else to do to get the car to fire up and I’m honestly tired of paying everyone money just to get to the same result or I don’t know what’s wrong.

The E90 ECU sits on the passenger side if I am not mistaken and is prone to water damage...this could be very well the case judging from what you just shared. Now the water damage may not be visible on the outside but inside the ECU is where it is, so get someone to open it up and have a look at it rather

I'm not an expert on what scan tools work and which don't but unless yours can communicate, read and clear codes, monitor values etc I don't think it will be of much use. If you look under the Vendors section you'll find a couple places that really know their stuff with coding, ECU and troubleshooting related issues.

10 to 1 its a bad earth - there is an earth point for the the ecu just in front of the left front strut tower
