The separate part number for the LED units is 63217327273 (left) 63217327274 (right)
Non-xenon ends in 75 and 76 respectively

Right,

I got the pricing skewed alittle. Normal retail price is 5K at the dealers. I can get them for R3800, inclusive of all standard warranties etc. No coding required. Plug and Play!

I got them cheaper, but that was before the Rand took a dive. I think that is very reasonable.
Devon's car WILL need coding. :fencelook:

According to this the 282 version should be plug and play for all 1-series:

R3.8k is a bit less exciting than the original amount, but still a damn fine price. I'll just have to suck it up and get a set :)

Nah Morne, it's plug and play for mine as my module is the same, pre 2010 will most likely need coding for DRL's though. The modules differ, I did the research down to part numbers

As in halogens?
It's quite possible you would need a different using to run the LED units, otherwise the non-LED's are an option, doubt you'll need anything different on them, but I could be wrong as sleeper tried a set meant for non-LED's on his car and they didn't work.

Howzit guys,

Im also looking for the LED LCI Blackline Tail lights (1M Tailights that look Smoked). I called the dealer today and they have them for R1900 each! But Im not sure if they will fit on my 2008 135i E82. I read else where that I would need to get a footwell module and new cable or something to that effect, and then on another site says that if your E82 has xenon lights then the blackline tail lights are a straight swap. Any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks

If you give your short VIN to the parts department at the dealer, they will tell you exactly what you need.
I only had to swop the lights, but some cars need the Harness and the LCM.

Thanks, I called the Dealer. They quoted me approx R1900 each . This was from BMW Umhlanga. Only one way to find out if it works... Il let you guys know how it turns out.

I found out that these black line led tail lights will not work on our cars unless we have footwell module3 (FRM3). Per LCI cars have footwell module 2 (FRM2). It is possible to use these tail lights with footwell module 2 but you will need to get the footwell module 2 recoded in order to disable bulbcheck etc and accommodate the new LED tail lights.
