Bmw E46 - Laminated fogs

Hi Fanatics

So I've been stop by Traffic cops this w.end for the usual checkup - Asking for your License and then the check out your car.

So this traffic Cop ask me if my fogs is laminated yellow, which i said to yes. and he gives me a warning because all lights must be clear and white at the front.

I said no problem but isn't this helping in misty weather because we get a lot of mist in the west coast.? so that's why i put it on for better visibility.

So do you guys also get problems from Traffic.?

Chapter VI : Fitness of Vehicles
Part II : Equipment on or in respect of vehicles
181. Colour of lights


1) Subject to the provisions of regulation 170(1), 171(1), 172, 175 or 176, no person shall operate on a public road a motor vehicle which is fitted with or carries on it a lamp which –

a) except in the case of a brake anti-lock warning light to the front of a trailer, emits a light which is not white, amber or yellow in colour towards the front;

b) emits a light which is not yellow or amber in colour towards either side of the motor vehicle; or

c) except in the case of a direction indicator or reversing lamp complying with the provisions of these regulations, emits a light which is not red in colour towards the rear.


2) When two or more lamps of the same class emitting light in the same direction are fitted to a vehicle they shall emit light of the same colour :

Provided that no person shall operate on a public road a motor vehicle fitted with any colour of lights other than the colour of lights prescribed in terms of these regulations.

Must not emit yellow.. BUT ALL THE CHEAP car lights are opaque yellow from the factory even the main beams.. How does that make sense?

OP, maybe post a photo of your car from the front so we can see what the cop was looking at. Coisman is the wise one here to keep us on our toes :cartel:

Post the pic so we can see and argue with you on this.

...and make sure to include your number plate, so I can forward a ticket if the lights are in fact illegal... :mmm:

Heck will try and upload a pic soon. I was thinking this guy have a problem with the yellow Laminex because he kinda had a attitude over the lights been color yellow. :cthulhu:
