BMW E46 diff ratios

Can anyone tell me where I can find out the differential ratios of the different E46 models? I currently have a 318i (2000 model) and I installed a Lexus engine. Ideal ratio for this conversion is 3.6:1 for best consumption. I get around 3.6 km/l at this stage........... Someone suggested a 330d differential which is apparently a lower ratio than the current one. Anyone comments / suggestions?

330d has a longer ratio...

you should have a 3.38 in there now

here is quite a complete list:
http://www.bokchoys.com/differential/GearRatios.htm

I went to this site first, but they l list US models only, and the 318i is not on the list. Only the E36 318i is listed. Hopefully I can locate the info somewhere, otherwise I will have to work it out myself by counting the turns of the propshaft for one turn of the wheels. Should be pretty close I think?

put your Vin into RealOEM to confirm ratio :)

the Diesels have long ratios to compensate for lack of RPM whoever told you to fit one form a Diesel does not know what they are talking about :fencelook:

to get something in the 3.6 range you will need to get a 3.0 Z4 diff...

changing from a 3.38 diff to a 3.64 diff will not make a huge impact on fuel consumption... something else is wrong with your setup...
