Haven't updated this thread.

Had an issue with slight overheating when driving in traffic and when pushing it a bit and I was also getting a exhaust camshaft fault. Replaced the exhaust solenoid but didn't make any difference.

Decided to do a block test and found the cylinder head gasket had failed. Checked timing as well and it was off on the exhaust side.

So head stripped and sent to engineers to recon, installed new gaskets, headbolts etc.

New thermostat fitted at the same time.
Redid the timing, flushed the cooling system and happy to report she is running like a champ now and with no faults.

Night and day difference in terms of power after doing the head and setting the timing correctly.

Did a full service, new tappet cover gasket and intake boot. Rear diff bushing was also done.

Also installed a brand new in the box BMW E46 professional radio which is quite rare that I managed to source from one of my BMW parts suppliers. Very fortunate to have found it.

The professional radio has dual FM tuners and a much better amplifier. Sound quality has improved dramatically and the Harmon Kardon system sound sounds even better now.

Will be going in this week for a full detail.

I may decide to sell her in the near future as I have a too many projects going on at this point in time.
What material was used for Headliner?
Something you got and had someone do? or was it supplied and fitted by this someone?

Im hoping to do mine Before end of the month but looking for the proper Material or one Thats CLOSE to the original.

Material was supplied by the upholstery. Its very close to OEM.
I can ask him if he can supply the material? Just message me.

A lot has happened to this car! Sorry to hear about your head gasket issues...old BMW things...

Did you do the vanos at the same time? I feel like my 330i is not giving all that it can give, maybe the vanos is tired.

Please share details on the roofliner guy, also looking for close to OEM material - most aftermarket are too "puffy" and thick

what does the a-pillars look like? thats for me the true test on how good the outcome is. I guess the "puffy" comment from Benji can be seen here with those small inserts that covers the screws.
