Howsit guys!

Really need help here  :praise:

My bmw 318i e46 2004 model automatic transmission cog light is on.
I changed the MAF sensor , but light is still on.
It comes on only after 4000/5000 revs. I thought buying a new MAF sensor will help but it didn't.

Really don't know what else it  would be  :dunnoanymore:

Somebody please help a fellow bmw guy in need ???

What made you think that a new maf would have any effect on a transmission error code?

The transmission error code comes on when there is a fault with the mecatronics valve body, or an electrical connection to the gearbox that failed, or if the gearbox adaptations can no longer adjust for the wear on the clutch packs in the gearbox.

Either way, get the fault properly diagnosed with INPA and decide on a course of action from there.

Did a diagnostic, my mechanic said its picking up some fault on the computer box and not the gearbox itself .. any idea what it could be ?  :dunnoanymore:

He mentioned to me that he is going to check wiring amd that ...could that be a possible issue ?

You must ask the mechanic to give you the error code, then ask what actions you can take. Without the code it is every man's guess as to what is wrong with your baby.

Yes the codes will be the easiest way to determine the cause of the problem.
I recently had one of these cars in with similar issues, when you scanned it for faults in the Gearbox ECU it would tell you to check the Engine ECU.
Engine ECU had 2 faults for

1) Valvetronic Limits
2) Air Flow meter
