Hi Fanatics

I have an error on my OBC 'brake light circuit failure'
None of my brake lights are working

bulbs fine
brake wiring in boot looks fine
clips on bulb fine
5A fuse (light circuit i think) was replaced with 7.5A for now

checking the switch which i think had its days... see pics what do you think?

The red sleeve is stuck...
No Idea why there is grease around switch and you will see the one pic i pressed the pedal in.

Are there any guys here that now how to bridge the plug with the 4 wires? to check if the brake lights go on? then its def the switch it the bypass works

The switch is a common problem, i had the same error, and replaced the switch.

Never tried bridging it... But use a multimeter and check which is live and ground. I suspect the 2 thicker wires... But rather get a new switch - safer.

Replace the switch and be done with it. Once opened mine and fixed it but it only lasted for a day. The problem is caused by plastic melting inside the switch causing the switch mechanism to become stuck.
