owner of a my first ever BMW and I must say that there is no going back after driving one once I fell involve with them especially the e36 328.

I defiantly plan on modifying the car extensivly and looking at doing some mods, I am familiar with the common m50 manifold swop with a good tune and a nice exhaust system putting me at 170-180kw, but I want to know if there are any other mods I can make to get to 190kw without sacrificing the reliability.

not just do I want to work on the motor but I also want to do suspension, brakes and gearbox modification.

I want to make my 328 the ultimate drivers car

would appreciate and help and advice

thanks

Welcome to the forum,

Post some pics of your car :smilebounce:

190kw is going to be tough to get. If you want to stay N/A then the best way to get there would be building a stroker motor using 3L internals from an E46 330i , obviously then you'd have to pull your motor apart.

Brakes, a nice upgrade would be using E46 330i front brakes.

Gearbox doesn't need mods, will handle the power easily. Perhaps a short shifter if you wanted.

Suspension depends on how much you want to sacrifice comfortability for performance. For performace replace the bushes with poly bushes. (Makes your ride harder) Get Strut Bars for the front and maybe rear. Consider a decent set of coilovers.

Pics please.

M50 Manifold, S52b32 Crankshaft, and a good tune and I think you'll probably get what you're looking for.
Crankshaft obviously means some engine work though.

If you want to avoid opening the engine, maybe do all the smaller things and see if they add up- cold air intake, exhaust, management, etc.

and what you recommend if I pop a set of cams in there, I have done some research and some people recommend putting in the e36 m3 cams however I was thinking of putting in 262/252 cams in and was considering advancing the inlet or the outlet but not sure by how much ?

Haha Bokkie. Go to "BMWFanatics Forum" at the top of the page and then click on "New Post". Put your intro post out and then you may be able to advertise elsewhere on the forum. Im not sure if theres a post requirement to be able to do sale posts though.
