Good days guys, I just bought a 1995 e34 525i auto with no motor, engine harness and ecu in it. Before I buy another M50B25 motor with harness, and ecu. I wanted to find out from you if I can upgrade my engine and still use my auto box, like I'm considering a m60/m62 V8? The auto box still has its harness and computer
Thanks in advanced

No
The bellhousing is different on the small inline 6 to the v8 not to mention the torque difference.

If you want a v8 auto box I have a client who has one for sale.

Installing a V8 motor into a 6cyl body is a lot of work as there are many many differences including but not limited to: steering box, ABS pump, fuel lines, brake lines, brackets etc, windscreen washer bottle, radiator mounts etc etc. As Peter mentioned, gearbox, prop, diff, brakes on the V8s are larger. Would recommend rather buying a 540 because you are going to spend a lot of time and/or money.

The only reason I am doing a 6 to 8 conversion, is because Im building a V8 into a Touring which only came in 6cyl in SA and I have a complete V8 car so I can transfer all above mentioned items over when I get time (long and slow project)
