Hi Guys, wow thats a cool picture.

Ok cool, ich hat viele bilde gemacht aber photobucket ist ein problem.

I took some images on Saturday and getting my new plates on the weekend for my new city.

Anyways, can I email someone the photos to post here. Or whatsapp. Just having a heachache with photobucket.

Car is a 1995 525i Executive model, in really mint condition, full sevice history. Completely original. The radio is new, but I have the original radio too. The vehicle came with BMW winter wheels too, currently on the summer alloys which were also from BMW.

Thanks

I still recall driving the 540 individual manuals when I was still an apprentice many moons ago. What a car!
Aegean blue exterior, that plush cream interior with super soft creased leather seats and door panels that would give a Gomma Gomma sofa a run for their money:blowheart:
Anyway, from what recall, E34's in general were very reliable but they were quite heavy on suspension components i.e. control arm bushes, shocks.
Several different versions of control arm bushes were introduced for the common shudder on braking and vibrations back in the day.
The V8's had a cylinder barrel wear recall, but I am sure all of the local cars were sorted out with new engines many years ago. Tappet cover gaskets on 530/540 V8 were also a common replacement (but I was in Durbs at the time and the high temps contributed to this as well)
Electric seat mechanisms were troublesome on some cars.
Corrosion and black-death on plug connections were not uncommon in coastal areas. I also recall hating replacing interior blower resistors and a/c microfilters, was a kak job:rage:
In terms of parts, they arent cheap, but Goldwagen keeps most of the mechanical replacement parts. I cannot comment on cost and availability of electronic items though, probably agents only or scrapyards if you are lucky.

Hope this helps.

Good luck in finding your perfect E34

Congrats. I would say I have gone to great lengths chasing e34's but I have never moved all the way to Germany just for an e34 :mmm:. I also have to say I am glad to see that there are still e34's running around in country like Germany where cars are pretty much considered disposable.

Looking forward to seeing more photos.

Thanks guys :)

You should all come and check out the scene here. You will be surprised at the amount of old cars that are still in showroom condition, and car meet ups are massive. Germany is really car heaven.

Oh yeah, the wheels tryes are 71inch, 255,55,17 rear. 235,60.17 fronts, and have a set of 15inch for winter, but to plan to get the 17 Throwing stars for the next winter.

What an awesome car the E34 is. Are there lots in SA still ?

Here 2 friends of mine have the same exact model like me, the one being Black and other blue.

Its amazing, car prices here for old cars are going up and up.

Also cars here have to be Audited every two years to be on the road, so everything needs to be working.

Thanks for the feeback guys and look forward to seeing everyones ride.

Been ages since I last posted. But so far enjoying the car, hope to go to the Nurburgring here in Germany. Its about a 4 hours drive.
Started putting some 4k Ultra HD videos driving in Germany. Just these two for now. Autobhan and other performance drives will follow.
Anyways, hope you all also having fun with your E34s.
