anything that you remove from your car that isnt done by bmw will void any warrenty.....they are very iffy about this especially when it comes to forking out money to fix something expensive.if the dealership even catches you with a cone filter or any other aftermarket filter they voild ur warrenty....unless stated by them that they give u permission to do such mods...

If you are in JHB, take your car to KWIK FIT in Fordsburg, ask for Salo, tell him ARBEE sent you. He normally does decat for around R500 odd if you lucky. 0118387852.

Theo, back in 1994, we only had leaded petrol available, hence the 3.0 M3 (the ones brought to RSA) do not have cats (or dogs). No de-cat necessary:)

Will the E46 M3 lose the "rasp" if you remove the cats? Are there any power gains to be had by de-catting? If so, how many kw's?

if their blocked, which they normally are, probably a huge gain... from doing my exhaust and unichip, well, my entire exhaust kinda comprised of cat delete, and replacing all the mufflers with 2 high flowing cowley mufflers and nice big SS pipes. took my car form 202kW to 231.1kW .. quite a substantial difference there hey bob. ALSO, hardly anyone knows this.. if you have rear catalyst sensors, one before cat and one after cat.. put them back in the same place they came from ! same point in the exhaust even... then for the rear sensors, put about a 3cm spacer inbetween the sensor and the exhaust ... otherwise you should get a warning or warning light on your cluster...

;) ... still want me an M3 like your, haha.

Thx CPlate. You are spot on. I got 25kw (just removing the primary cats) and a nice swing in Tq.
