Else it's like buying a burger on special and you only get the top half of the bun, because the guys did not specify exactly what you're getting :fencelook:

Just never been to a dyno day so I don`t know how it works.

:nonono: I went there for the VW day last year and their dyno did not like my Zed and got very low numbers.
Some excuse that BMW have limited my car if the front wheels are standing still....:thumbdo:
I went and crapped all ove mate at BMW and he sent my car to a place In Midrand where they checked it out and got 252 :argh:
so whats the story.

@MikeR... it could be that KAR measures power on the wheels and the other place measured power calculated back to the flywheel.

Wheel power is the better of the two. it shows what power is actually going to the wheels, including the losses due to the drivetrain.

Wheel power is the better of the two. it shows what power is actually going to the wheels, including the losses due to the drivetrain.

Yeah I know what you mean but not 150kw, they actualy said to me that I might be wasting my time as they have had problems before with the Zed M that have been restricted when running on the single Dyno - my wifes TDi polo got 89kw at the wheels. :argh:

Very interesting as the same thing happened to me. Wonder if the BMW's has some sort of 'limp mode' when front wheels stand still while rears are moving. Even if traction control is disengaged

My wagon is fine on dyno no issues and yes I will be going, its this coming Saturday. Im all in!

Hey gents, on some BMW's you actually have to take the fuses out for 1 or 2 things to disengage them completely which allows the car to dyno properly, can't remember exactly which ones they are, at the Project Shift dyno day, my E39 M5 also did this at first restricting the revs, the guys then checked and found out about taking the fuses out and after that the car put power down on the dyno perfectly. I'm sure there's someone on here who knows which fuses I'm referring to?:thumbs:

R100 Dyno run... What exactly does that mean...


At the recent Boost Junkies Dyno Day we paid R120 for two consecutive Dyno Runs at the same premises..

Is this R100 per run...

Just Wondering and thinking out loud...

It's 2 consecutive runs as is the norm for a dyno day.

What exactly was the low numbers? 252kw is engine power, KAR can also give you engine power if you want.
