Bmw 530D E60

Hi guys,

Traded my 2005 clio sport last week for a 2004 bmw 530d e60 A/T (exclusive). :excited:

quite happy with the trade and can't find much problems on the e60.
(or no one talks about them)

only problem is the navigation cd was hijacked from the car along with the freakin manual to tell you what which button does.

anywho. glad to join the club...
Not an M though but hopefully a remap in the pypes soon...

Post some pics of your ride, I love the E60 shape, and I really do not care what people say about Chris Bangle, you either love the shape, or you dont.

The 530d is an awesome motor, with no real issues other then the common BMW issues that you can find all over the site, so do a bit of searching, and you will find some awesome info, there are some really knowledgable guys on the forum, and we have discussed the diesels quite a bit..

Congrats.

You can order the manuals from BMW, or just download them, the NAV DVD is going to be a bit expensive, but some people here have found alternative methods to get it, do a search...

it was on a 114 000 when i got it. which is a little high. but a lot lower then the other models that were available... for the 2004 and the price i got for it.

Dude, that thing must pull like a diesel locomotive, with all the torque you've got at your disposal! One thing I miss about my diesel is that kick you get when the turbo kicks in, especially on up-hills, where other people are rowing through their gearboxes! Nothing beats oiler torque!!! Every time I am passed by a Bimmer oiler and I get that pseudo chlorine exhaust whiff, I miss my oiler!:drool::bawling:

Damn shame, I had to change due to the area where I travel, which is Forester country, out and out. I would have destroyed my Bimmer's undercarriage looooong ago driving her on those roads!:thumbsup:

guys need some help please if anyone can. The car had a Restraint failure error before i bought it, the dealer i bought it from apparently fixed it. But now 2 months later the error is back again. Is This a problem that only a dealer can resolve?
I know there was a recall on some of the models some or other seat sensor was faulty.
also would BMW charge me to just look at some of the stuff one my car.
Sunroof has a funny glassy rattle when lifted but not when closed or opened. and i think it might need to be leveled again as i get some noise when driving a little faster than usuall.
It seems i also need rear brake pads soon. i've seen some guys here say HiQ does it for arround 750.
are the brakes decent?
I have a few questions on the car but im pretty new to BMW in general and not sure whom to speak to.

I appreciate all the help.

Not sure about the first couple of things, but the brakes is an hour DIY for yourself. No skills needed.

yes, BMW will charge you for a diagnostic. It is very difficult to say what the restraint failure is caused by, only a diagnostic(with a computer) will be able to show where the fault is. Then you will be able to get a price for the fix. I doubt it will be as simple as an occupancy sensor, more than likely it going to cost a bit.

did u not get any warrantee (cos m/plan expired) 4rm wher u bgt car ??
suggest u take 2 AA for a full check & sort any faults ..
these are fantastic cars ..
i mapped myn & ran a best time = 14.1 @ tarlton ..
