BMW 320i E90: Software Upgrade

Hi All,

I am fairly new to this forum and I have recently (in May) purchased a 2006 BMW 320i E90. The car is stock standard, and pushes out only 110KW of power.

I have been researching (and maybe in the wrong places) on software upgrades that will allow for an increase in power, however I have yet to find a forum, site or specialist that explains the process of a software upgrade.

I plan NOT to really do any modifications to the car, but wish to upgrade the software, or ungovern the standard chip. I have heard that one can upgrade the software and allow for the car to add an additional 10 - 15KW more power.

Any help will be much appreciated with regards to this issue.

There are two options - add a chip/ unichip or flash your ECU

the unichip from what I understand, fits in your wiring harness.

when they flash, they take your map, modify it and flash it back on your ECU, they apparently do it the same way BMW would reload your software.

Thanks HELLAS! :thumbsup: Regarding the reflash, for your 320, around 10kw and 15NM are realistic with raised rpm (if desired) better acceleration and smoothness with no flat spots or hesitation.

As mentioned above, we download the original file first from your car, modify that and then upload it again into your car again...

GUys just some advise.

I was going to do my software in my car booked in at tune tech.Ended swearing him and cancelled the booking.

he is ignorant and has no client service skills what so ever.I wouldnt take my car there no matter how good he is.

Suggest if you got a temper like me :cursin: dont even call him because you will get annoyed very fast.

thats my opinion take it or leave it just thought id share my bad experience with TUNE TECH!!!
