BMW 318IS E36 Service

Hi All!
Well its that time again for a service!
Its a BMW E36 318IS 1997 model with 196600km on the clock
What will be the best option for parts?and what parts?
I've got Shell Helix oil,been used in the car for the last 100000km
What is the best grade oil to use?
Is the filters you get from midas any good?
I want to change the oil,fuel,and air filter plus sparkplugs
Phone BMW ,the charge R105 for the oilfilter,but R400 + for the fuel and air filter ,per filter!
Can get those at midas for R100,GUD,are they any good?:dunno:

I don't see why the GUD filter would not be OK. But the dealer is best for filters, the air filter from dealer should be about R80 or so. Do not know about the fuel filter.

For the E36 the price of Air filter was cheaper @ dealer than the parts store..

Spark plugs are not too badly priced from dealer, for the E46 I got a price from dealer for R79 each including VAT, phones a few other spare places & got prices around R75, so not much difference.

Ended up getting them from diesel electric (Bosch) for R73 each.


Thats all that I have done with regards to servicing our cars as we take them to a Mech normally so as to keep the Full Service History

I got a price of R500 incl VAT for Fuel filter for my 325i. Continental BMW in PE

Plugs : R 104.64 set of 4

This is the prices BMW gave to me yesterday
Made an appointment at Zeemax on Saterday

Only had the car for 3 months,figured it will be best to take it to them and have it checked out!
And the gave me excellent service on my E30
