On a related note... I thought BMW went with timing chains cos the last the life of the motor... Is that an ideal case but different in practice?

Hi
I got another silly question
Can i swop the clock with a trip computer from a 328?
The one that gives you fuel consumption, ect?
And will everything work?

Yes you can, and yes it will work. Speak to parts guru Gizmo. He has (had) 2 of them in stock. Apparantly it is straight forward plug out, and plug in. The car is pre wired for this.

I wanted to do the same thing, and discussed it with him, but then bought the 540i, so the 318 took a bit of a backseat.
