Hi All

I used to own a 125 coupe but has an accident and now the insurance tells me they writing the car off.

Looking to replace it with a 120d coupe. But any ideas or suggestions are welcome.

I can't seem to find a decent priced 120d. Any ideas why they are priced more than the book retail ?

Yip

this has been discussed a few times before, IMO the 120d is far more sensible than a 125i but also pricing is quite silly compared to an E90 320d with same year and mileage.
You might find a decently priced one from a private seller although it would take a bit of time, be patient.

120d is Hens teeth. I also looked for one, but settled for a 320d when I couldn't find one.

Maybe consider a 320d, as (weirdly enough) they sometimes are cheaper and have more basic equipment (leather seats, cruise control etc) as stock.

IMO the 125i is a dud, so you definitely will not make a mistake by going for the 120d.

Finding the right one for the right price could take a while, but will be well worth it.:coolShake:

This is exactly what I did last year
I really wanted the E82 after my 2 E87s , found a 2011 M-Sport 120d which I was really keen on but got a 2011 Msport 320d with the same mileage for 40k less

Problem is I really like the 1. Find the 3 a bit big for me. If anyone knows of any good clean ones for sale at a decent price, let me know.

was actually in the exact same spot you were in , I found the 3 a bit too adultish lol, I'm a bachelor wanted the 1 series desperately but the 40k I was saving was the key factor.
also the 3 series had options like climate control , USB , Bluetooth and PDC which the 1 series didn't have and insurance was slightly cheaper surprisingly.
but I can relate to what you mean, it makes you feel old and doesn't have the appeal of the 1, so if you don't mind spending the extra dosh , be patient and keep searching.

The 1 series coupe has always been bit of a niche thing. Dealers know this and adjust their pricing accordingly. The 120d is even more desirable due to the looks of the car, combined with the power and economy of the diesel engine.

If you can get a good example at a good price.... take it... immediately :praise:
