Why do they have to make this kak, there enough GT & X options available, this just looks like a soccer moms taxi.

And they dont want to make an M version of the Z4 in favour of this?

What type of car company is BMW becoming?

Sorry guy, but a van does not fit into the ethos of what BMW is......it never was.

Show me one from the past.............:thumbdo:

Guys, this thing is heavily cladded, so reserve judgement until it's revealed, even the M3 didn't look like much under the camo.

Also, if you needed a van, wouldn't you want the choice of a BMW van, rather than being forced to choose a Renault or Mazda?

And, even if you don't like and buy one, it helps BMW tap into a new market segment to make more money to spend more on R&D to make the series you actually are interested in better.

I didn't say they'd made a van before, but times change, sales targets have to be met to stay ahead of competitors etc.

Would you rather BMW not tap into a market, lose market share against Audi/Mercedes and slowly whittle away, than just buying a 3-Series or whichever model you prefer?

I'm not saying you have to like it, but someone will, and that sale will help keep BMW profitable.

The X5 and X6 was laughed at too, and so was a small BMW hatch, but these vehicles are bringing in big and important money.

There are 5 reviews up now of the i3 for example and all are very positive. BMW has to make changes, unfortunately. The core lines will still be fairly conservative and conventional.

What I said was, if I needed a van I'd much rather have a BMW van than another brand.

Just asked my SO what she thinks of a BMW MPV... her reaction was:

"are you serious"... "why would they do that"

Why not stick a BMW badge on a bus or taxi since they entering new markets?

There so many choices in the MPV market, why spend on these projects,
when the fans are shouting for:-

1. Z4 M-Coupe
2. M7
3. A5 Sportback competitor, not a 3Ser GT
4. E92 M3 CSL
5. 1M CSL
6. M1 Supercar or R8 competitor
7. 8 Series re-incarnation
8. Compact sports car smaller than Z4 aka Z2
9. A range of vehicles to complete with Mercs Black Editions
10. An X-Factor car like the Z3 M-Coupe, something dreamed up and designed by the engineers not requisitioned by the boardroom jocks.

If they are converting the brand into a mass volume seller, instead of a carmaker of sporty or sports cars then sadly I think they have lost direction, and the board of directors that make decisions are not real BMW enthusiasts, but just want to slap the brand on every single concept the think will sell and shift units.

I just feel this brand is being diluted, it's becomes ridiculous when you see a BMW badge on everything with 4 wheels these days, alot of that mystique about the brand is being lost. If they there going to be BMW badges on small city cars and mpvs, I'm going to drift away from this brand, as its not representative of what the history of the brand is......
even though they are making class leading vehicles, as a luxury brand its uniqueness and appeal just goes out the window if you seeing the badge on everything................:thumbdo:
