So glad you git it sorted, she looks gorgeous!
please post more pics!
btw are those wheels for sale?

I'll take more pics this weekend when I am out and about. Got some great scenery in mind!

Hahaha, no unfortunately they're not. If I find a new set (which I'm looking for) then they might be. But it's not on the cards just yet :=):

This is where the car was about a year ago

Lovely!!

Do you mind if I ask how much the new S54 motor cost all in with the transplant?
also who carried out the work?

I have a 3.0si coupe, so im just curious.

So it was the second motor I bought. The first one from Jap Auto in Boksburg was just a piece of rubbish that was put together with a mish mash of non S54 parts. That one was R56k. The one in the car now was R60k. Plus some new parts that needed to be bought that had gone missing, all in was about R75k.

It was done by a guy named Mike Dodd who builds track cars. He did an excellent job because when he got the car from me the front end was in a thousand pieces.

If you total up the entire bill, including the two engines and various parts, it was about R140k.

OUCH!!that is a lot!!
I was scared of getting the M for the sole reason of bearings and costs involved, general maintenance etc, and I can now confirms my decision on getting the 3.0si instead.
Definitely won’t be able to afford the M if something goes wrong

I always appreciate honesty like that - big ups for putting down the dough and getting this car back in one piece :)

Thanks guys. The car nearly did end up getting parted out if I'm honest. But after I sold my F10 M5 late last year and my plans to make my next new car a brand new M I decided to get the Z4 going.

It just sat for ages. And every day I saw it made me feel really bad. So it was well worth it. And I am really loving driving the car again. A few things here and there that need a bit of attention, but it's 95% back where I want it to be.

Those rims are the reason I bought the car 3 years ago. Yeah. I've had it for 3 years believe it or not.

Thanks for all the positive comments guys, makes it feel like the amount of money spent to get it back on the road is worth every penny.
