nice conversion. it appears that the e30 has a little more space in the engine bay from the pics.

a few questions...
1 - have you replaced the cam belt on the motor? the round rail isnt a non interference motor and will bend valves if the cam belt fails
2 - how are you going to change your forum name now....

i do these conversions for R45k into almost any rwd body but i prefer using the 21r cressida box, my reason for this is that if the modded e36 box fails its a huge mission to replace it if required. where the 21r box is a straight fit onto the bellhousing. my build also includes a new cam belt and full service on the motor which is hand picked by myself.

i did a quote for a mate a while back and it came in at around R90k all in for a completely rebuilt from the ground up e30 fitted with the v8, big brake kit, coil overs, respray, etc etc etc.

i have sold my last v8 e30 to a fellow club member and am in the progress of building a new 1, but this time with a fully modded n/a lexus v8 motor.

i do happen to have a complete e34 rolling chassis available should the need be too great for a few of you... just saying you know...

Hello Racing Snake,

It just happens that the E30 is a better candidate for the conversion than the E36 because the location of the e36's sub-frame cross-member & body reinforcements (its a really tight fit!) - But I must admit that I moved the engine as far back as I could to improve handling on it (There is more than enough space between the front of the engine & the radiator - could change the drive belts with a smile on my face)

1- Yes, I had the cam-belt replaced (Paid a shit load of money to get it replaced as-well as a service on the engine - Removed the covers & double checked if it was replaced)

2 - I really do not have an idea how to change that, guess I have to live with it?

I also build my E36 up from the shell. Did the spray job myself & I know how much this "hobby's" cost in the long run.
