Anyone here using the BimmerCode app. What are your impressions of the app?

ive used it for a few things on my F30, pretty cool. also its a once of payment so you can always use it again, ive done the M splash logo on start up , the M performance logo in the cluster, Red sport dials, Rolls royce/MINI chimes etc

I haven’t had any issues with the Apps (Bimmer Code and Link), the once off price for them is similar to two or three visit to have someone do these for you....R1,2k for both and a few cents.

Someone in the F10 group said it can mess up the car, how they got that right is beyond me but I suspect they were fiddling with the expert mode.

Anyone using bimmercode using a wired connection such as Enet cable?
I see lots of recommendations for the Vgate option, but feel I have more faith in a wired solution [ELM327] can be super temperamental.

Any suggestions would be great. Would use it primarily for Bimmercode.

Can someone assist with coding a few things for me.

I wanted to turn the stop start function off
Add the ///M animation
Turn on the door handle lights when the car is in reverse
Let videos on screen play while car is in motion

Holla. i have been using BimmerCode App with with Vgate iCar wi-fi....I must say...it is superb.....i was able to code the followings:
#Deactivate seatbelts chimes and lights( both passenger and drivers),
#Add the ///M animation
#Turn on the door handle lights when the car is in reverse
#Let videos on screen play while car is in motion


However, my car is 2017 F33 420i cabriolet. i am struggling to code mirrors to open / close with remote fob/ key. Also, i am struggling to close the windows with the key fob / remote key.

Anyone who has done that on f33?

Not entirely sure of your cars specs but seems it has lighting package?

Does it have convenience entry? Where the doors auto unlock when you pull on handle? If so, I have read before that the remote doesn't work to close windows, but if you hold the raised part on the door handle for a few seconds, it will trigger the windows to open/close.

Worth a try?

Maybe the mirrors are related to this?

I could also be 100% wrong

Tried the mirrors on my car as well. Didn't work because I don't have the module for auto folding mirrors.

I used it this past weekend on my 2021 M2 Comp to code out the active sound design, activate mirror folding on lock and also activate the acoustic confirmation when you lock and unlock the car. Everything code coded successfully, i used an OBDLINK CX bluetooth adapter.

Depends on your luck I suppose... I doubt a technician will pick up on the fact that you have folding mirrors or rear DRLs activated unless it's flagged on the ECU

It's a risk. Plan could be voided without clear explanation. Not entirely related to bimmercode but maybe check this thread

Thanks @Tesh_M428i. I got my calipers painted red today and even that made me nervous because I read some horror stories online. It seems like it's very much dependant on the dealer you're dealt. So if they're having a bad day... So will you.
