Had Tracker alert which worked for me in the car when they stole it, but yes the police recovered the car and it was impounded for a week.

Create your own tracking system, 1 which self destructs if your car gets stolden blowing up the idiots to hell. After that you will have live news coverage about the where abouts of your car for the next week as well as news paper headlines "local thugs gets the bomb, owner thrilled as a cracker"

After insurance pays out, get another!!

I had the Tracker, not sure, but the one where i have to alert the tracking company in the double cab that I had for 2nd weeks.
Bastards stole it and the tracking company found the unit in Olando, Soweto.

Till today which is aout a month later and still no bakkie

There was also a netstar unit when the bastards also found. Both tracking units were found in the same place

Lucky the BM was not sold so decided to keep her.

Hi guys, have read through the thread and still deciding on what tracking unit to go for !?

I was keen on skytrax until I heard about police/insurance being able to pull logs and see what speeds you were traveling?? Is this true? Any way to disable this logging with the device?

Otherwise I'm considering net star cyber sleuth plus.

Seems netstar cyber sleuth supreme also logs this kind if info, pretty much the skytrax equivalent.

Sleuth plus might be the one to go for, or matrix mx2/3.

Stay away from matrix!

Is it? Had them in my old car, didn't have any bad experiences really overall but then again never really had to track anything luckily.

Well apart from them triple charging me when I decided to uninstall the unit even though my contract ended like 4 years ago then battling for over a month for them to reimburse me after countless emails, phone calls all at my expense, finally after threatening them they reimbursed me (not in full either i might add)

That's disgusting... I've put through cancellation, hopefully all goes well.

I have tracker fitted to 5 of my cars and there are a lot of pros and cons.for a business and staff driving vehicles there are only pros.firstly you get a 10% discount on your insurance premium that you need to ask for.secondly tracker keep reports for up to 5 years so if some one duplicates your number plates and gets fines you can prove otherwise.thirdly you can set no go or dangerous unauthorized areas, harsh breaking, speed limits, battery disconnect etc...
There are also different options,I know he one offers you a free garmin, others live tracking via your own PC or just the cheep and cheerful for insurance requirement. They are also super customer orientated and been around a while.good Luck
