This is what i have currently on a standard e46. The suspension work may follow at some point but for now it doubles as my x3

I would love and looking for the 225s but they are a bit expensive. And dont know if there are any work to do or do they sit nice.

I say on a non Motorsport, style 162 Ellipsoids FTW.

It's 18" by the way. U didn't specify what size on an E46.

Also love the 225M but Gizmo discouraged me from going 19"...

Some really cool ideas guys. Thanks for all the input. Never thought e60 rims would work but those actually look very cool.

You beat me to it, Style 162 ellpisoids look pretty decent. The offsets are really lekker. The rear sits fat without rubbing. And concave is always pretty :)

My opinion was always gonna be biased as I have them on my 330i:rollsmile:

Geez those look great. Definitely one for consideration. Seems the E46 has a wide range of rims that look good!

Does Style 32 come in 18"?

Ok.I see on BMW styles website that it does. But it looks too dated in my opinion, from the E34 days...

E46 needs a fresher looking wheel. Well each to his own...

Asking which rims you prefer is like asking whether you like blonde or brunettes...

My personal favourites are E90 ellipsoids for the E46. Works well on darker colours though:

(Excuse the poor quality pics)

The best set of wheels you can fit to a e46 is the oem set you have never seen fitted to a e46...Case in point, style 108 BBS 2piece rims in 18".
5 and 7 series wheels look stupid on a 3 series when you have regular size tyres on them, for the low offset 5 and 7 series wheels to work on 3 series you need stretched tyres and dropped suspension, without it you look like a fool with your wheels and tyres sticking out your fenders...just my 2c.

Damn!!! Do those ever look hot! Your address please so I can liberate them from you tonight when you're sleeping :roflol:

Seriously though, those look very very good. Maybe a very slight drop to complete the look?

Thanks for all the input guys. It's really cool to see how many guys are still so passionate about the E46. Really nice to see.

I'm not going to do too much to the car. Already ordered though is a new navigation/bluetooth/entertainment unit which should be arriving soon. So would like to get the rims next, then perhaps an M Sport steering wheel.

But keep the ideas coming. Very much enjoying the feedback
