Best Exhaust and Best place for N52 325i coupe E92

Hi Guys,

Just bought a clean E92 325i coupe.

Car drives really smoothly but i would like to hear the car more and maybe get some better throttle response.

I have seen a few vids on Youtube of some N52's making some pops and bangs, and even some high pitch high revving sounds.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I do want to keep the car as standard as possible but i do think it will benefit with a more lively sound.

Thanks a lot.
Regards

Here's some clips of my previous E92 325i. It just had a muffler delete and secondary cats were removed as well. I miss that sound :inlove:

My advice

Delete cats and add an exhaust diverter valve

Best of both worlds

Branch and exhaust for me.. Guaranteed to give you a livelier sound + pops and bangs.

Had mine done at Viper Performance Exhausts in Jhb.. Worth every penny and probably my most loved modification, makes a hell of a difference

Thanks for all the input guys.

I contacted Viper Performance and Rogue Performance.
Both were recommended to me.

Viper was:
R7500 for Decatted exhaust system
R8500 for custom fabricated branches
R13500 for special full branch and system package.

The owner advised car will crackle and pop and gain 11KW and 25nm.

Rogue:
R8500 for full exhaust system.
R5500 Decat/Muffler Delete.

What do you guys suggest. Viper guy sounds a bit excessive haha.

Thanks in advance.

Wow! Viper has really become expensive.. My entire system (branch + freeflow + tail pieces) set me back just under half that cost in 2015 :fencelook: That said, all these years later and I still love the system.

I would honestly look at Rogue performance and see if you could negotiate a bit.. Have heard good feedback about them in any case

Contact Powerflow or one of the other shops for comparison quotes, just for homework.

Cheapest and easiest way is to get a 135i back box, do the M performance mod and stick it on your car. It will pop, sound amazing and deeper. You retain the stock look. Been happy 2 years on my car with it and everything else is still stock. no cats or resonator removed.

Sounds really good, that deep sounds is great with the pops.

Only problem is how to find the back box and where to do the mod?

I'd also like the option if possible to be able to revert back to stock incase the next buyer would want that.

Box you can check gumtree or here on the forum. Any exhaust place can do the mod for you. Bought the box for R1000 and paid R700 for the mod plus fitting. You can easily revert back to stock as you can just put the original muffler back like i will do when i sell the car.

You would benefit HUGE by doing a software flash on your car. You will gain at least 35 - 40 kw and around 60nm and you can add the pops to that if you really like that stuff.:smilebounce:

You technically have a detuned 330i. Same engine just less power.
So with a ecu flash your car becomes a tuned 330i:fencelook:

nope bud:fencelook:...the e9x 325i uses a n52b25 engine, which is not a 3.0l as found in the e82 125i

Yes correct, sorry i was basing it on the N53 which some 325i's have

Did we get this engine in SA? these have direct-port injection iirc

I look at the cars we have listed and it does say the N53 on the 325i, could be that they were only available overseas though?? the 125's tune up very nicely with those engines though. on the N52 engine the gains are only about 25hp and 35nm or so
