Howzit guys. In the market for a decent daily. Travel around 40km a day. Any decent suggestion between 400-500k?

Bear in mind that I drive a bakkie everyday to work so it could end up being a weekend only car or night time car too.

Look forward to your responses

What are your requirements? Age? Mileage? With mp/without? Car/coupe/suv?

F15 50d is going to be > 100k KMs and bout R50k over budget for a 2014 model (I think).

Interesting suggestions so far. Didn’t think of any of them. Currently in the stable is Toyota hilux legend 50 double cab. Work van. Golf 5 1.9tdi dsg. Was a car I ended up due to a circumstance and can’t seem to path ways with it. These are the cars I have with me in Cape Town and then some toys back home. But looking for something sporty and possibly easily modded and most importantly something fit for someone who is 24

M135i and then mod or there is a super rad very well modded m135i for sale on the forum now. Or e92 m3? R400k gets you a fun toy.

Why make 400-500k debt if you already know you might only use it on weekends? Sorry just taking another angle here, cause that's a lot of monthly payment for something that wont be used alot..

If this is going to be your 4th or 5th car and you have a practical R650K bakkie as well as an indestructible diesel golf, why do you need a daily for a 40k trip at all?

Obviously money is no object... Buy a Lotus or Noble or 4C or something different IMHO

I think you need to determine if it really is a daily or a toy you might want to daily now and again..

When it comes to pure daily, something with a bit of power if always nice. If it is a pure toy then you might as well go big.

From what I am hearing in the thread, my thoughts:
Daily - FBO M135i
Toy - F10 M5 (you have other cars when this needs maintenance)

I've loved driving my M3 as a daily and am in the process of selling it in light of emigrating - as a short term stop gap and in that price bracket I'd look at either an S3 or Gti... they just hold they value better and are super easy to get out of.

Yip, purely based on a daily and the fuel consumption. I also think the 330d will hold better resale value than a 340i.

Some very interesting ideas popping up. I can see this end up being a toy more than a daily and i wouldn’t really call it debt. I’ve been eyeing that m135i on the forum almost everyday. To be honest I would I would prefer a bigger car like an m5. Idea car would be lci f10 m5 or f12 m6 around the 500k mark.

To be honest I didn’t even know you could get a noble here in South Africa. A few friends keep saying RS3 but that’s breaking the bank

I would go for a 640d, its just a nice place to be in with the added benefit of low fuel consumption :praise:

Lots of M5 and M6s coming up in that price range... even a few with plan (which is worth extending)
