Looking good bud!

That responsiveness you yern for on the 335 will be there when the JB4 comes. Coupled with downpipes it's a completely different car.

Thanks for all the positive comments guys.

With the 330d having sold quicker than expected, I've been daily-driving the 335i before getting a chance to attend to everything I'd planned to do - so now the mods and maintenance items are on a bit of a go-slow as I find time for it.

B3 Alpina Flash done - which works fantastically well for the most part... it takes a bit of getting used to over the stock transmission profile, especially the way it short-shifts into 5th and 6th gears at very low speeds, sometimes catching you off-guard... also, its insistence on revving through to 7000 RPM in Sport mode is higher than I'd like, so need to rather get used to using the steptronic shifter - or get a set of steering paddles.

I've had a set of Mr Turbo downpipes in my boot since Friday last week... will be having them fitted tomorrow, and doing a secondary cat delete while I'm at it.

PrevP is bringing up the Spearco Intercooler on Monday, so will make a plan to have that fitted next week, and also take the car through to The Carbon Doctor for some loving, and fitting new T-Clamps all round to keep the boost in. (Thanks Kish & Firi - I'm a big fan of T-clamps, just didn't have any extra when fitting the charge pipe.)

From there, it'll go to a decent indy shop for a vehicle check (gotta stamp that log book! ;) ), and an auto transmission specialist to see if an ATF change is still feasible or whether I should just budget for a recon-job.

Only after all that is done, will she get mapped / JB4'ed.

Oh, and I have to fit a body detailing job + leather care in there somewhere.

Btw...how does the synapse bov sound...any chance of a sounclip?

Sounds a bit lite a whip crack... not terribly loud at stock boost levels though, so taking a video clip right now would be a bit of a waste really.

Will do so once it's been mapped.

Congrats. One shekshy car.

Did you buy it in PMB?

Ta dude - yes, it's the one from PMB that was on Scumtree.

Saw the "TruRays" decal when you advertised the Rezax wheels. That's how I knew.

Mr Turbo Downpipes & secondary decat done...

Straight pipes welded in place of the secondary cats is a big no-no - it loses the 6-cylinder tone at idle, and develops an Opel fartcan exhaust drone around 1800-2500 RPM that is downright embarrassing... Though it sounds plenty angry when you get it up and going, and spits / pops on overrun, I just wouldn't have been able to live with the drone

I drove it for about 5 km, turned around and headed back to Powerflow Randburg to get two small 30cm silencers installed.

Drone is gone, idle sounds like a 6 cylinder again, and the exhaust note sounds deeper & sportier than stock, without being obtrusive.

Rather save for a box overhaul and speak to me when you ready.

The new boxes do not take to oil changes kindly and will more than likely give up the ghost should you change oils.

Changed the oil on my 320d at around 100k kms. Car is now on 128k kms. Shifted a lot smoother after the change.

BAWB!!!!

Where's the updates?

Not much to tell.

Had the car carbon cleaned and fitted a Spearco intercooler in March.

Had it remapped 2 weeks ago - but been struggling with misfires beyond 6000 RPM - I've replaced a few coil packs, but I suspect it to be fueling related - so I'm in for either injectors, or an HPFP.
