technical Battery discharging while stationary

Howzit,
As the title states. I have an F30; had a similar problem with my e90, was an old tracker unit draining the battery.

I don’t want to spend R6k on a new battery if it isn’t the issue.

Any advice on how to solve this will be appreciated.

If your F30 has a tracking unit start with having that removed (if you can). One of the recent posters mentioned he had a faulty boot switch and the light remained on causing a bit of a drain.

After the experience of them ripping up half my F10 (and having to replace broken things) to retrieve a dogshit unit designed to fail, I will never fit a tracking unit into a vehicle again. Trying to cancel is like trying to cancel a gym membership. There is no benefit that I can see having one anyway apart from being taken for a very long ride while they figure out where it is and how many you have. If police or insurance wants to track the car they can easily do it via BMW's own platform anyway.

I agree re: trackers. I didn’t have one fitted to this car, previous owner may have done.
Took electricians a few days to find the unit in my previous car. I suspect it’s the same issue on this.

Seems I’ll have to go through the expense again

When I bought my f10, the previous owner had placed a regular battery instead of an AGM battery. It was only about a year old, yet I also was getting this message. Once I changed it to AGM, I haven't had the message pop up.

So just check the battery is to spec.

It’s Agm. The message in my subject line is showing on my screen. I think a tracking device is the culprit.

I phoned multiple tracking companies and gave each one my cars details, till one of them said they hve it on their system,
I then booked it in to have it removed. which didnt take long, and they wouldnt let me watch as they removed it.
I still get a battery drain issue, which i am chalking up to be my Comfort Access door handles,

Also, could be more than 1 tracker on the car?

If your insurance insists on a tracking unit, consider the BeamE option - from what I've researched/asked, it does not connect to your car battery.

NB: Not affiliated with them in any way, and I stand to be corrected.

When i was there, i asked how many units were installed, and they said they only fitted one unit, as per the works order, and thats what they removing.
unless i keep calling other tracking vompanies and see if they have a bite on my cars registration, and maybe thee is another one hidden

This is entirely possible, you could have 5. Its not likely the CA door handles are creating a problem, unless you have a fault. I would say make 100% sure you dont have 10 tracking units installed, as it seems when cars change ownership, there is no control to ensure older units are removed, which means they could be there, like leeches, drawing power and trying to communicate out, when on the receiver side, they have been disabled.

Also, someone with proper diagnostics can help you narrow down the fault if it isnt the million units from tracking companies.
