Battery advice please

Hi Fanatics,

I've noticed since yesterday that my E46 M doesn't want to start on the first turn of the key. All my cluster lights come on when the key is at ignition position 2 but when I try to start it is completely dead. I then try about two or three more times and then she starts. Is this possibly the battery and if so, should I get a new one from the stealers or can I just buy one from a Midas or somewhere similar?

When the starter turns the engine does it sound fast or slow. If it is slow it might point to a dying battery. The windows will open and close slower if the battery is the problem.

Take my advice, go and check that the battery terminals are secure. This used to happen to mine, and all I did was, tighten the positive (it was a bit loose) and viola!!!

When the starter does turn, it sounds fine. Also, my windows all operate correctly?

Might be a bad connection. Problem is there is ALOT of wiring between the key, battery and starter. Hope it gets sorted:thumb:
