Scam.

If they put their number our like that, scam.

If it's too cheap (too good to be true), scam.

If it really was a deceased estate car, it wouldn't be advertised on scamtree.

That could be a real ad. E60 M5's have dropped massively in value. Have a look around and you'll find a couple for R200K to R250k.

And my cousin bought a low mileage car from an estate once in Cape Town, car was also placed on gumtree. Was a Nissan Maxima.

not saying its not a scam, but saying its possible.

One of these fine days an e39 M5 will be worth more than a similar condition e60 M5.

What a glorious triumph for paddle shifters :fencelook:

E39 is still the true M5 to me, always had a spot in my dream stable. Fordkoppie if I had the moola it would have a new home in my garage already, to this day I have never driven a better car than the E39 M5. Would still like to do my E36 S62 swap one day.

That is definitely gona happen, the E30 325i costs more than the E36 325i & even reaches E46 325i prices & a clean E36 M3 is not far off the E46 M3 prices now either

Those pricing gaps are getting so small that it preference, not age that will decide what people would buy in the future.

The only reason these cars are worth so little is the astronomical cost to keep them on the road (or at least the perceived cost from those of us who have done research on them). It is easy to fall in love with the motor. Very difficult to justify the hundreds of thousands you could end up spending if things go south... together with the fact that things can break catastrophically even without abuse. There are a few threads I remember reading on the US forums where guys are claiming a $20000 premium on a manual car for these reasons. Pity they never sent manuals to us. 08+ SMG cars are much better buys but none seem to ever come up for sale (possibly because these owners are perfectly happy).

There are already a few E39s that are priced higher than E60 M5s. Whether they sell at those prices I'm not so sure. I'd also love to own one or a manual E60. The E39 is my personal favourite BMW.

That's the case right now I reckon, try and find a clean 2001 to 2003 E39 M5 with decent mileage on the clock. Definitely won't find one for under R220k.

E39 is on my shopping list at the moment. Want one... bad!!! But I can't seem to find one.

I saw a clean black one at Cayenne Kyalami. Still had the run in sticker on the windscreen. Interior was perfect. No leaks, FSH etc. Carbon Black. 179K IIRC. Worth a look if it is still available.
