Bad start to my long weekend

Yesterday i was driving into town when I drove over a rock which i saw late and couldn’t avoid on FW De Klerk Blvd. This is where they are busy doing construction close to the CTICC. The sound of the rock hitting something underneath the car was bad so I immediately stopped when i found a gap to check underneath the car and everything looked fine. I drove on with no funny sounds coming from the car till i got back home. Now this morning i wake up to find a large puddle of oil underneath the car,check underneath and it looks like all the transmission fluid had come out.Didn’t start the car and had it towed to my mechanic who confirmed that the transmission sump got damaged from the impact. Took the sump out and off i went to BMW, the oil pan R4000 and the oil R5000 for 10 liter, That’s ridiculous. I ended getting the stuff from ZF themselves, oil pan R1000 and oil R1800 for 10 liters.
Mechanic is busy putting everything back and i just hope nothing else is broken as i’m already R5000 out of pocket for something that I didn’t plan.
If anyone wants to do a gearbox service i think the time is now as the lady from ZF said they have a special on the oil pan at the moment.

I’v been in touch with them yes,they saying i must wait for an assessor on Tuesday and must not touch the car. Told them I’m gonna go ahead and get it fixed.If they decide to pay me back fine but I’m not waiting until Tuesday.

Ugh, these construction sites and roadworks grate me when they mess rumble the road. On the bright side, it only cost you R5k, albeit still an unnecessarily big chunk of change.
