Atf or Power steering fluid?

Morning gents

I managed to get a new power steering pump. so gonna put it in tomorrow. What would you recomend? Power steering fluid or Atf ?

I used Castrol ATF when I changed my pump.

power steering system uses 1.5 liters.

Almost a litre, 2x 500ml bottles and there's still some left in the 2nd bottle

the total capacity is 1.5l but alot stays in the rack so 1l will be more than enough when changing the power steering pump...

Dexron III is fully backwards compatible, unless I am grossly mistaken?

When I bought mine I was expecting Dexron III but the dealer gave me Dexron II. Upon enquiring he mentioned the two being different colours. Mine is red/pink so I stayed with that (Dexron II). Dexron II is mineral based, I think III might be synthetic/semi-synthetic.

i use dexron II never ever had a problem with it
